Editor's note: 2011 marks the 90th founding anniversary of the Communist Party of China (CPC). The International Department of the CPC Central Committee has conducted new types of party-to-party exchanges and cooperation in an effort to promote the development of state-to-state relations. This year, several large-scale political party forums, thematic briefings and other activities were held or undertaken by the department, which show great effort in trying to display a democratic, progressive, open and innovative image to the international community.

Party-to-party exchanges

The International Department of the CPC Central Committee organized or sponsored a number of forums on party-to-party exchanges, including the China-Europe High-level Political Parties Forum, the Conference on Development and People's Access organized by the International Conference of Asian Political Parties (ICAPP) in Nanning, and the fourth high-level dialogue between the Communist Party of China (CPC) and the Democratic and Republican parties of the United States.

Thematic briefings

Through briefings and online interviews, the International Department of the CPC Central Committee explained the Party's policy and achievements to the world, especially when the Party was celebrating its 90th anniversary of the founding or had concluded the Sixth Plenary Session of the Seventeenth CPC Central Committee.

Touring CPC departments

When the Communist Party of China (CPC) was approaching its 90th founding anniversary, a number of CPC departments opened themselves to the public, including the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, the CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and the CPC Central Committee's Organization Department.

China-Arab/Africa Co-op Forum opens

The second China-Arab/Africa Medium and Small Businesses Cooperation Forum was unveiled in Weifang, east China's Shandong province Tuesday.

Sun Jiazheng, vice-chairman of the 11th National Committee of Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, China's top political advisory body, said the cooperation between China and countries of West Asia and Africa has become closer in recent years, especially in the field of economics and trade. The bilateral trade volume has been steadily increasing for consecutive years.

China-Arab/Africa Co-op Forum to be held

The second China-Arab/Africa Medium and Small Businesses Cooperation Forum will be held in Weifang of East China's Shandong province on Sept 27 and 28.

The forum is co-organized by the International Department of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and Shandong provincial government, and co-hosted by the international department of Shandong provincial government, China Economic Cooperation Center (CECC) and the municipal government of Weifang.
